Vocations: Events to Help Discern Priesthood

Project Andrew Vocations Dinners

A free meal at the Bishop's house with other men who are considering the possibility of priesthood. For all men open to priesthood who are at least a junior in high school.

Catholic Men's Discernment Group

The discernment group is for men who are in college or older who are open to the possibility that God may be calling them to the priesthood. Through prayer, adoration, learning, and fellowship, the participants are able to encourage one another in discerning God's call in their lives. The group meets on the First Friday evening of each month at the Ecumenical Center on the University of Wisconsin - Green Bay campus. The evenings begin with Mass at 6:30 PM, followed by food and conversation, a presenter and discussion, adoration, and fellowship time. For more information, contact Fr. Tom Long at the Diocese of Green Bay at vocations@gbdioc.org. Don Bosco is the patron saint of seminarians, and the inspiration for this discernment group.

Thinking of Priesthood Day

This day is for single men, ages 18 - 40, who are open to listening to how God is speaking to them. Men will join others interested in learning more about the call to the priesthood. Fr. Jonathon Fassero, OSB from St. Meinrad School of Theology in Indiana will lead the day. It will be held at the Ecumenical Center on the UW-Green Bay Campus. For more info contact Fr. Visit to Mundelein Seminary

For men who already have a College Degree. Ministry Weekend retreat at the seminary is designed to help men discern God’s call in their lives, especially in regards to priesthood. Through a weekend of prayer, discussion, presentations of diocesan priesthood and social opportunities, you can better understand God’s movement in your life. It is also a great chance to meet the seminarians of the Diocese of Green Bay. From the comfort of your chair, you can also visit the Mundelein Seminary website.

College Seminary Visit to Pontifical College Josephinum

For high school juniors and seniors and men already in college. The Pontifical College Josephinum is located in Columbus, Ohio. It provides a college seminary education that helps men discern their call to priesthood, and prepares them for continued seminary studies after college. The Live-In Weekend will allow potential students to experience some of the prayer life, classes and communal worship, as well as providing an opportunity to meet college seminarians (including those from the Green Bay Diocese), faculty and staff. College Seminary Visit to St. John Vianney in St. Paul, MN

For high school juniors, seniors and men already in college. Anyone currently attending or applying to college should check out the possibilities of college seminary at the University of St. Thomas. Transportation is arranged by the diocese, most meals and your room are arranged by the seminary. The trip leaves Green Bay at 1:00 PM on Thursday and returns on Saturday afternoon. Encounter With God’s Call

For men juniors in high school and older, who are thinking about priesthood. To be held at Conception Seminary in Missouri. An opportunity to meet guys just like you who are opening their hearts to God’s will in their life. Yes, they do have a website.

TEC Retreat Teens Encounter Christ

A weekend experience in Christian living designed for youth, young adults and adults. Participants spend time listening, laughing, singing, reflecting, and discussing things about themselves, others and God.
