Vocations: What is a vocation?

Vocations

Fr. Tom Long

God calls each person to use his or her gifts and talents to serve others. Some of us are called to be husbands, wives or singles; while others are called to be sisters, brothers or priests. Either way, our call -- or vocation -- as Christians is to become more Christ-like.

Do you think God is calling you to serve people by being a priest or a religious order member? A call to vocation is a call to do as Jesus did, to say by our lives:

"I am among you as one who serves." -- Luke 22:27

Fr. Tom Long
